This Week in the News July 18 through July 24, 2011

For your Sunday news pleasure, here’s a few stories that you might have missed during the week.

Mac OS 10.7, Lion was released on Wednesday.  And the Mac fanatics rejoiced at the prospect of a new operating system to buy new computers to line the pockets of the board and shareholders of Apple.

Amy Winehouse was found dead in her London home, on Saturday, July 23She was 27, which is a bad age for some rock stars, pop stars, actors, or other celebrities.

If you’re still coming to terms about Netflix raising its prices, here are some reasons why they had to do it.

Safe playgrounds might be hurting our kids more than the old monkey bars, jungle gyms, swings, and tall metal slides ever did. Maybe they’ll bring back the rocketship that was in Idlewild Park.

Doing this is NOT safe at all, and don’t even try it if you’re a stunt man. In Sparks on July 21, two cars were driven into houses. Yes, driven into houses, and one of them sounded like a bomb to the family whose house was destroyed. Probably, the cars were driven into the houses for reasons similar to what happens in this clip from the movie Freebie and the Bean.

Here’s Amy Winehouse’s biggest hit “You Know I’m No Good”, sung live at the BBC. Say what you will about her, she could sing.
